Kinofilm Festival to host ‘Umbra’

Iran’s short ‘Umbra’ is to attend the Kinofilm Festival in the UK.

Iran’s short ‘Umbra’ has been set to attend the upcoming edition of the Kinofilm Festival in the UK.

Directed by Saeed Jafarian, the Iranian film will participate at the Iranian Short 2 category of the 16th Kinofilm & Manchester International Film Festival.

‘Umbra’ is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is alone. She goes out worried in the darkness of streets.

The short film has previously participated at the Kyiv International Film Festival "Molodist" in Ukraine, the Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival in France, the 2018 Vila do Conde film festival in Portugal, the 17th Silhouette Film Festival in France, the 42nd Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada, the 2018 Batumi International Art House Film Festival in Georgia, the 37th Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden, the 14th MEDFILM Festival in Italy, the 20minmax International Short Film Festival in Germany, and the Brussels Short Film Festival in Belgium.

‘Umbra’ has also attended the 27th St. Louis Film Festival, the 10th San Joaquin International Film Festival, and the 2018 AFI FEST, all in the US.

Earlier reports said ‘The Feast of the Goat’ by Saeed Zamanian will also take part at the same section.

The 16th Kinofilm & Manchester International Film Festival will begin on February 25, 2020 and is set to wrap up on March 1, 2020.
